Amateur Radio Training at the NLO


The NLO Radio Group holds training courses to enable students to study for

the Foundation and Intermediate stages of the Amateur Radio Licence.

Courses are held regularly during the year, depending on the number of students enrolling.

Advanced Licence courses will be held depending upon demand, the NLOSRG has an approved instructor.

January 2011,  the RSGB fees for the examinations are currently

Foundation £27.50

Intermediate £32.50

Advanced £37.50


Additional fees wil be made for any training courses attended at the NLO.

These are currently Foundation Course    £25

                            Intermediate Course  £40

                            Advanced Course      £50

Both Exam fee and Course fee are payable on the first training night.


Candidates are not required to join the NLO, however those joining

will have access to the Radio Groups meetings / equipment etc.

also listening to Amateur radio transmissions and attending a local Club or Society

such as the NLOS Radio Group will enable you to gain useful knowledge of the

hobby and its operating procedures.
